Wedding Skin Prep
Updated: Apr 6, 2020
As many of you will know, George and I get married on Saturday! Just two days away! I've had most of this week off work to tick off all those last minute jobs, but since George and I have kept quite organised I've also had some time to relax.
I really been focusing on my skincare regime on the run up to the wedding. Good skin makes a flawless base for make-up. I'd much rather invest in some good skincare products so that my make-up on the big day has a great blank canvas. I highly recommend Origins Original Skin Renewal Serum. I use this every night before bed, I find rich moisturisers too heavy, but this serum is so moisturising without all the oiliness. I've been using it for a few months and have really seen a difference in my skin, it's less dry and I've had less breakouts from overusing heavy night creams.
I have really really dry lips. I've tried just about every lip balm and rescue remedy under the sun and nothing worked, until I found Nuxe. Their Reve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm is a godsend, and the little pot lasts me months! After having so much luck with this product I've tried a few other from Nuxe and they've fast become one of my favourite skin care and body brands. Other products I'm currently loving from them include Huile Prodigieuse Or (gives a gorgeous shimmery glow) and the Reve de Miel Ultra Rich Cleansing Gel (it's soap free so not harsh on skin).
I've also found using a great eye cream helps reduce puffiness in the morning. Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream is my current favourite and I apply it before my primer.
On the run up to the wedding I've also invested in a really good hand cream. With the weather changing to milder temperatures it's easy to get caught out with really dry hands. My favourite by far is the Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment, it's a pricey hand cream, but by far the best I've ever used so I had a pre-wedding splurge (seeing as my hands are likely to be in a few photos this weekend!)
That said, I think the most effective way to improve your skin is to improve your diet. I've been really conscious about eating well over the last few months and I think it's made all the difference.
Most of all I've been making an effort to relax and enjoy this week! George and I had our last date night before we become a married couple last night. We booked tickets for Cirque du Soleil this time last year knowing we'd really enjoy it as we headed into the last few days before the wedding.
2 days to go!
