The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Updated: Apr 6, 2020
I spent my last full day in Florida at Universal Studios Orlando. This park has changed quite considerably since my last visit, mainly with the addition of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! I'm going to focus this post on the photos I took in the Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade part of the park, but there is obviously entire other areas dedicated to your other favourite Universal films and characters (The Simpsons, Dr Seuss and Marvel to name but a few).
I'd highly recommend getting yourself a park hopper ticket so that you can visit Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter spans across both parks with the Hogwarts Express connecting the two.
We started the day in Universal Studios (check park opening times as they don't always open/close at the same time and you may be able to get into one of them earlier). We quickly rattled through a few of our favourite rides before queues built up (Men in Black Alien Attack, Revenge of the Mummy and the Rip, Ride Rockit rollercoaster) and then made our way over to the entrance to Diagon Alley.
Past the Knight Bus...
And you'll find yourself staring up at Gringotts! There's lots of familiar shops to look in too.
Make sure you check out the Escape from Gringotts ride!
And pick up a Butterbeer before heading over to Hogsmeade...
Honeydukes was definitely my favourite store, so many sweet things to chose from!
And then head on up the hill to Hogwarts! There you can take on the Forbidden Journey ride (if you're stomach is up to it! I came off feeling pretty queasy!)
There is so much to do and see! I just loved wandering around and soaking up the atmosphere. The set is so well done, down to every last little detail. There's performances on throughout the day, and an illuminations show starts around dusk too.
