Petersham Nurseries

Updated: Jun 13, 2019

I've been a little behind with blog posts lately! But that means I've got lots of posts saved up still to share.

Last weekend Hannah and I spent a few days in London enjoying some wonderful weather and food. After travelling down on the train, we kicked off the weekend with the prettiest lunch setting.

Denim Jacket: Last season from Stradivarius (similar here)

Dress: Vintage from Cow Nottingham

Trainers: Converse

Petersham Nurseries has been high on my 'to visit' list for a long time, but it's right out in Richmond, so not really suitable for a quick day trip dash into the city. As soon as H and I had made our plans to stay a couple of nights, we added this to our itinerary, knowing we'd still have time to fit in more.

We caught the tube out to the end of the line and then grabbed an Uber for the short ride to the nurseries. Traffic between Richmond and the city centre can be a serious nightmare, so public transport is a much better option.

You'll be greeted by gorgeous florals and even more wonderful scents as you head through the entrance. It feels like you've been transported out of the city and into a secret garden. We arrived just on time for our lunch reservations so made our way straight to the café.

Which is the most stunning greenhouse, the ceiling heaving with bougainvillea and the smell of jasmine soaking the air.

Pull up a chair and study the farm fresh menu, it changes often with seasonal availability.

We chose a bottle of wine and nattered away, catching up and laughing.

The squid was to die for, so fresh with juicy datterini tomatoes.

After lunch we explored the rest of the place. It's a combination of dreamy garden centre, home store and tea rooms.

With flowers trailing from every inch.

Giving me serious inspiration for the garden. I was swooning over the roses!

The bumble bees couldn't get enough either!

The perfect start to our sister weekend in sunny London!
