Paklinski Islands, Hvar
Updated: Jul 13, 2019
We arrived to Hvar the day before yesterday. It was an early morning ferry from Dubrovnik (and I mean really early!), but that meant we were in Hvar by 10:30AM. We dropped our bags and checked straight into our lovely little apartment, changed into our swim gear and headed straight back out the door.
Now, we had originally planned our boat trip for our one full day in Hvar, but changed our plans based on the weather forecast (which was a good job, if you watch my Instagram stories you'll know, but I'm talking serious lightning storms!)
We walked straight down into the bay to Hvar Boats and asked to rent one for the afternoon. We were obviously very last minute and they could only offer us a 10HP boat (which we gratefully accepted for 900 HRK, but you can get smaller boats for less usually!)
Listen to the instruction brief, its really quite useful!
We had already picked up our supplies, and they provided us with a cooler and ice packs to keep everything cold.
Our first stop was Mlini Beach, turquoise water impossible to resist.
I was straight in.
Like a little mermaid.
Heading for the rocks.
Although watch our for Sea Urchins, they're everywhere!!
After a swim and a bite to eat, we set sail again.
We stopped at a few bays/beaches. Our favourites were Mlini Beach, Ždrilca Bay, Bok Beach and Uvala Tarsce.
My absolute favourite was Bok Bay. Two little pebbly beaches with tiny fish that swim right up to you.
I was an absolute water baby and was in and out the sea all afternoon.
Sandy feet and salty skin, I set sail for port a happy woman.
If you're ever in Hvar put a day aside for the Paklinski Islands, they're truly special!
