We arrived in Zanzibar yesterday after two short flights, from the Maasai Mara to Nairobi and then onto Tanzania. We’ve settled into island life very quickly, by which I mean we haven’t done very much at all today! We drank cocktails by the pool, and then dragged ourselves off the sun loungers and over to the spa for full body massages. It’s been a tough day...
The hotel (Breezes) is beautiful, the grounds are filled with blooming flowers, and the beach is stunning. White sand and sparkling turquoise waters as far as the eye can see.
Zanzibar is just off mainland Tanzania, in the Indian Ocean, so it’s nearly always sunny and the sea is always warm enough to swim in. It feels like bath water when you dip your toes in.
Our hardest decision was deciding where to sit!
The pool is also an option for cooling off, and today we just zenned out and didn’t even move in search of lunch.
The beach bar had our back and we enjoyed calamari and chicken satay in the sunshine.
With a mojito (spiced rum of course - this is Zanzibar after all!)
Breezes boasts the award winning Frangipani Spa, and I can attest that it’s rather luxurious! A massage top to toe was just what the doctor ordered after being thrown around in a jeep for hours on end whilst on safari.
This evening we've got plans to eat at Salama, and as I'm writing this post I'm sipping on a lovely bottle of fizz that the hotel gifted us as a wedding present.
Life post honeymoon is going to be tough!
