Everything's Coming Up Frosé
Updated: Jul 13, 2020
A little tipple for you to try this bank holiday! If you freeze your rosé in the morning, you can enjoy a cool frosé by that evening. Its like a slush puppy, for adults!
What you'll need (Makes 4 drinks):
A bottle of rosé
Half a punnet of strawberries
The juice of a lemon (freshly squeezed is ideal)
Freeze your rosé of choice for at least six hours, ideally overnight if you have time. I froze mine in a saucepan as it was what I had to hand.
A couple of hours before you're ready to drink them, start by boiling 200ml water on the hob.
Whilst you're waiting for the water to heat, chop the strawberries into quaters
Once the water is simmering, dissolve all of the sugar in it, slowly stirring throughout.
When the sugar is all dissolved, take off the heat and add all of the strawberries.
Cover and leave for 30 minutes.
Using a fine sieve, strain into a bowl. Discard the strawberries and you'll be left with a strawberry flavoured syrup. Cover this and put into the fridge to chill for 30 minutes.
Next, Scrape the frozen rosé into a blender, add your homemade strawberry syrup and the lemon juice. Blend until smooth.
Transfer back into the freezer for for another 30 minutes.
Once ready to serve, pulse in the blender quickly once more and then pour into glasses.
Enjoy and thank me later.
